Description

The history of this large and impressive villa near San Gimignano goes back as far as 970 AD. Villa Marchese, which once belonged to the Bishop of Volterra, has been recently renovated to offer comfort and space to large groups for an unforgettable stay. The villa is just off the provincial road to Volterra where the valleys of Elsa, Evola and Era all join. Villa Marchese is located right in the heart of Tuscany, only 10 kms from San Gimignano and 65 kms from Florence, offering a perfect base in which to explore the numerous nearby gems of Tuscany.

Villa Marchese consist of three levels. The first floor, a spacious 3600 sqft., offers two large living rooms, a dining room and a well-equipped kitchen, as well as a large central ornamental fireplace. A large stairway leads up to the second floor with 3800 sqft. It consists of eight bedrooms; four of the bedrooms have queen beds with bath ensuite, and the other four have twin beds with bath ensuite. The ground floor is a large open room that can be used to hold wedding receptions, reunions, and very large parties.

500 meters from the villa there is also a typical Tuscan Trattoria and a bar/pizzeria where groceries and local gastronomic products can be purchased (wine, extra virgin olive oil, honey, grappa).
