A three year renovation, finished in 2009, has restored the 1772 villa to its full artistic splendor, while adding modern conveniences such as swimming pool, air conditioning, elevator, full gym and yoga studio, hi-speed internet, and more.
One of the famous \"Seven Sisters of Como\", Villa Appiani is filled with frescoes and is the subject of a novel written in 1856 by French author Nathalie Comtesse. Few villas match Appiani\'s opulence and perhaps none can offer the proximity to the center of Como. Garden:
The lakeside garden is approximately 70 yards long by 20 yards wide.
Swimming Pool 15 yards by 5 yards; the pool can be heated upon request and with an extra charge.
The back gate opens onto the famous \"Passeggiata Villa Olmo\" on the water.
5 Stair steps descend from the backyard into the boathouse and the lake.
The entire garden is surrounded by stone walls and hedges 10 ft in height for optimal privacy.
Staff resides on property in a separate residence.

There is an 8 person elevator that serves all 4 floors.
First floor of Villa Appiani: Grand foyer with 20 ft. fresco ceiling and spectacular spiral marble staircase.On this floor, there are three rooms, one fitness room, 1 yoga/game room and 1 reading room
Second floor: Main formal salon (500 sq. ft.) with original fresco & mosaic floor, casual living room with original fresco & mosaic floor, formal dining room with renovated fresco & mosaic floor, casual dining room with original fresco, fully equipped kitchen (stove, oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster, dishwasher, coffee maker), a toilet,and guest bedroom with bathroom.
Third floor: Master suite with ensuite bathroom, guest suite 1 with ensuite bathroom, guest suite 2 with ensuite bathroom, children\'s suite with ensuite bathroom, guest bedroom, and full laundry.
Fourth floor: This floor has been completely remodeled in 2017. There are now two beautiful suites with double bed ( queen size ) with en suite bathrooms with shower and gorgeous new hardwood floors.
In each suite there is a sofabed.
Rustic Apartment (sleeps 7 guests): On the same property, but with a private entrance/courtyard from a different street than the villa, there is the Rustic Apartment (1500 sq. ft.). It consists of three double bedrooms, two bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and a fully furnished living room. A comprehensive renovation in 2008 retained the apartments rustic style, including exposed roof timbers, stone work, and antique floors. The apartment is 70 meters from the lake\'s edge and offers air conditioning, Internet, Wi-Fi, and a washing machine. (Please note, the apartment can be rented separately or in use by the owners, but as it is a detached building with independent entrance, there is no impact on the privacy of the main villa. Guests of the apartment do not have not access to the garden or the pool unless the whole property is rented by the same group.)
Included in the rental price: Arrival package (pasta dinner and basic grocery shopping), final cleaning, maid service 3 hr/day, linen changed twice weekly, heating, air conditioning, pool towels, concierge service, telephone (local calls only), baby cot/bed, extra bed, Internet and Wi-Fi, bikes, games and toys
