Description
Samos Estate is situated on a secluded and tranquil peninsula and consists of three beautiful private villas and a discreetly withdrawn reception cottage. The combination of all three villas can accommodate up to 20 people. The villas are set in a 40,000 sqm. orchard reaching from a lush pine forest down to the crystal clear Aegean Sea. The villas’ stucco finish replicates the colors of the earth and the pebbles of the nearby beaches, while the traditional dry stone walls were built by local stonemasons, creating a setting that is in perfect harmony with the natural environment. The orchard itself overlooks Megalo Seitani beach, a designated conservation area for rare fauna and flora. Apart from the villas, the orchard includes an olive grove, a vegetable garden, a vineyard with a variety of grapes, aromatic herb gardens, colorful flowers and luscious fruit trees, all grown and tended according to strict organic guidelines. In this scenery, guests can choose to either relax on their villa’s verandas, swim and snorkel at the property’s two private coves, lounge by the pool taking in the views and being pampered, or set off on excursions, whether to nearby Karlovassi with its nightlife and restaurants or, by sea or road, to a multitude of coastal or inland destinations, which offer a broad variety of activities and pastimes.
Each of the three villas at Samos Estate are carefully designed and equipped as would be expected if you were staying in a private, luxury family vacation home. The villas are light and sunny, and thoughtfully decorated with a blend of local and European objects and fabrics, and furnished with comfortable and modern sofas and bedding. The bedrooms are cool and spacious, offer distinctive views while maintaining privacy, and have Greek marble-finished ensuite bathrooms.
Swimming at Samos Estate can become as easy or challenging as one would wish; two private coves with their crystal-clear blue waters are steps away from the villas, however if even this seems like too much of an effort for guests, they can head to the property’s dramatic overflow swimming pool while children use the baby pool. Comfortable sun beds on the coves and by the pool are ideal for lounging long past sunset. The pool bar serves juices and drinks, while hammocks set under shade trees are ideal for an afternoon siesta after lunch to the lullabies of cicadas and the sea lapping the shore. At night, stretch out anywhere for some stargazing, with the naked eye or one of the telescopes provided in each villa for guests’ use: be prepared to make a wish on a shooting star.

On the rim of the famed Icarian Sea, lies the island of Samos. With an area of 475 sq.km. and a population of some 35,000 inhabitants it is the largest of the north-eastern Aegean islands. The island’s large size, diverse geology and important geopolitical position have ensured that Samos offers its visitors diversity, a long and interesting history, and is easily accessible. Lying on the north-eastern edge of the Aegean sea, some 175 nautical miles from Athens, yet only a few kilometers off the shores of Asia Minor, Samos boasts 160 kilometers of coasts with long, pure-white sandy beaches and small fishing harbors, as well as many picturesque inland villages. The island’s two striking mountain ranges are linked by forest roads, offering breathtaking views of the Aegean through the pine forests. Karlovassi, only a short drive from Samos Estate, is a lively port with a number of traditional Greek tavernas and fish restaurants as well as shops, banks, and a medical center. Cafés line the old harbor where one can idle time away sipping an iced-coffee or an ouzo. Karlovassi nightlife is vibrant, especially in the summer season. The beach life is a big part of the local lifestyle, and can be best sampled at Potami beach, any time of the day.
