Constructed in 1571, Chateau Christophe spans 1000 square metres and is ideally situated in the centre of Southern Burgundy. Only three minutes away, the mediaeval city of "Romenay" has all the amenities.
It's only fifteen minutes to Tournus, Burgundy's culinary capital with four Michelin-starred restaurants.with a prime position amidst farms and tiny lakes in the middle of the countryside.
The castle includes a child's room, ten opulent rooms, and ten bathrooms.
The large, fully furnished kitchen encourages socialising with its view of the pool deck. The dependency has a full wellness centre with a massage room (services provided locally by a masseuse), sauna, steam room, and gym (weight training and cardio).
Nestled amidst a stunning 7-hectare park featuring fishing pond, century-old trees, and a heated pool, is Chateau Christophe.
Ten cars can park in the spacious courtyard. It is completely private and has no neighbours.
Accomodation:
During the autumn and winter, you can use the sixteenth-century open fireplace in the dining room. You receive the wood free of charge.
There is an electric fireplace insert in both the living room and the poker room that lets you have cosy fireside moments without carrying the logs!
On the first floor is the spacious living room. With enormous high ceilings, plenty of windows looking out onto the park, and a balcony, it is incredibly light-filled. A touch of authenticity is added by the woodwork, the massive fireplace and its mirror, the stucco ceilings, and the old oak floors. The living room is furnished with a large HD screen, a Blu-ray DVD player, and Astra Sat channels. You can choose from more than 200 DVDs in a sizable library. There's also a large book library available.
On the ground floor are two exquisitely furnished lounge rooms with fireplaces, oak floors, mouldings, and French painted ceilings. One has a pool table, the other a chess table and a professional poker (and chips) table.
The expansive kitchen, featuring a fireplace, a French ceiling, and a natural stone floor, leads straight out onto the garden and pool terrace.
This large professional cooker has a five-burner gas hob, a large electric oven, a second oven, two microwave ovens, two dishwashers, two large refrigerators, a freezer, an ice maker and a toaster. It is fully furnished.
The kitchen has a second breakfast area with an electric kettle, Senseo coffee makers, traditional coffee makers, and Nespresso machines.
With a few stools arranged around it, a sizable granite table in the middle of the space provides ample space for cooking, lunch, etc.
Tea towels and a full complement of kitchen utensils and accessories are available.
Products for cleaning dishwashers are also offered.
There are three infant seats available.
