Casa Romana 2 is part of a large estate located just 7 kilometers from the city of Rome, via di Santa Cornelia right outside the village of Proma Porta. While staying here you can have the best of the country and still enjoy the city with an easy bus ride into town, no need for a car, the bus stop is just outside the property gates!!
This beautiful historic residence is surrounded by pines and cypress trees. Casa Romana 2 is a cottage on an estate with one other cottage and a main villa which is separated into 2 wings. Each part of this estate can be rented separately or together to accommodate up to 25 guests. (See Casa Romana 5 for the whole property). This part of the main villa can accomnodate 6 to 7 guests with its 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. In the early 1900\'s Casa Romana became a meeting place for a group of famous artists known as the \"Convivium Romanum\". Many beautiful paintings left by these artists, still decorate the villa walls.
From the pool you can enjoy a beautiful view of the mountains! The area surrounding this property boasts such activities as golf, tennis, horse riding centers, bike rentals, mountains and skiing, lakes, seaside, aquaparks, health spas and thermal baths, what more could you want?
Casa Romana 2 is a two story house. On the ground level is a nicely furnished living room with plenty of seating for 6. Off of the living room is the fully equipped kitchen and dining room. The kitchen has a stove, oven, fridge, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. The dining room table seats 6. Just off of the kitchen is an outdoor terrace with barbeque for al fresco dining. One of the three bedrooms is located on this floor. This queen bedroom is comfortable and well furnished. A full bath with shower and sink and separate powder room completes the first floor.
A spiral staircase leads to the second floor. (This floor can also be reached from a staircase located outside of the house.) The second and third bedrooms are located here. The first bedroom has two or three twin beds depending on the size of your party and the second is a queen bedroom. These two bedrooms share a full bath with separate powder room.
This rental also has a television, VCR, stereo and telephone. All windows have screens.
The Villa stands in its own farmland at about 13km from the Capitol and heart of the city and about 6km, from the first residential quarters on the north side of Rome. Since there are practically no suburbs on the north side of the city, access is very quick either by car or by subway. Local village Prima Porta is 5 minutes by car and 30 mins. on foot.
BUSES Buses between the Villa and Prima Porta: bus number 33 with bus stop just outside the gate of the Villa. This goes every 20 minutes or so. Travel time 5 minutes. Last bus is around 11,00 pm. Frequency is reduced to every 40 mins on Sunday. Until midnight there is also a frequent bus service (every 10 mins. or so) from Rome to the local village (Prima Porta).
LATE BUSES
After midnight the buses from Rome to Prima Porta go at 12,30, 1,30, 4,40, 5,00 am. SUBWAY/ METRO
There is a subway/metro station at Prima Porta village (approx 5 mins. by car or bus from the Villa ) with trains going every 15 mins approx. Subway journey time approx 17 mins. to the historic centre of Rome (Flaminio station next to Piazza del Popolo). The service operates from very early in the morning until 10,30 –11,00 pm.
TAXIS
Taxi from the centre of Rome to the Villa is about €uro 16-20 and after 10,30 pm. about €uro 30. Taxi to and from airport costs approx. €uro 50.
